Product Safety & Care Guide

Effective Date: September 12, 2026

At Furnizon, we want you to enjoy your furniture and home décor safely and for as long as possible. Proper assembly, placement, use, and care can help maintain the appearance, performance, and condition of your products.

Because our collection includes different types of furniture and home decoration, always follow any product-specific assembly instructions, warnings, labels, and care instructions provided with your item.

1. General Safety

Before using a Furnizon product:

  • Read all included assembly and safety instructions carefully.

  • Make sure the product is fully assembled before use.

  • Tighten and check all applicable screws, bolts, fittings, and hardware.

  • Place the product on a stable and suitable surface.

  • Use the product only for its intended purpose.

  • Do not exceed any stated weight or usage limits.

  • Keep children away from products during assembly.

  • Keep small hardware and packaging materials away from children and pets.

If a product appears damaged, unstable, or defective, discontinue use and contact Furnizon.

2. Furniture Stability

Furniture should be placed on an appropriate, stable surface.

For taller, larger, or freestanding furniture:

  • Follow all included stability and anchoring instructions.

  • Use any supplied wall-anchoring or anti-tip hardware where instructed.

  • Do not allow children to climb, hang, or pull on furniture.

  • Do not place excessively heavy objects on shelves or elevated surfaces.

  • Periodically check connections and hardware for looseness.

Wall-anchoring requirements may vary depending on the product and the type of wall or surface. Use appropriate hardware for your particular installation.

3. Assembly

If assembly is required:

  1. Read the instructions before beginning.

  2. Confirm that all major components and hardware are present.

  3. Assemble the product on a clean, suitable surface.

  4. Follow the manufacturer's assembly sequence.

  5. Do not force components together.

  6. Ensure all applicable connections are properly secured before use.

If you are unable to safely complete assembly, seek assistance from a qualified person.

4. Weight Limits

Always follow the weight capacity or usage limits provided with the specific product.

Do not use furniture for purposes for which it was not designed.

Examples include:

  • Do not stand on tables, chairs, shelves, cabinets, or other furniture unless the product is specifically designed for that purpose.

  • Do not sit on furniture that is not intended for seating.

  • Do not place excessive weight on shelves or storage compartments.

If the product documentation provides a specific weight limit, that limit takes precedence over general guidance.

5. Cleaning and General Care

Unless product-specific instructions state otherwise:

  • Dust surfaces regularly using a soft, clean cloth.

  • Clean spills promptly.

  • Use a slightly damp cloth when appropriate.

  • Avoid soaking furniture or allowing water to remain on surfaces.

  • Avoid abrasive cleaners, harsh chemicals, and rough cleaning materials unless specifically recommended for the product.

  • Test cleaning products on an inconspicuous area when appropriate.

  • Dry surfaces after cleaning when necessary.

Always follow the care instructions supplied with your specific product.

6. Wood and Wood-Based Products

For products containing wood or wood-based materials:

  • Avoid prolonged exposure to moisture.

  • Protect surfaces from excessive heat.

  • Use appropriate coasters, mats, or protective surfaces where needed.

  • Avoid placing products in environments with excessive humidity unless designed for those conditions.

  • Natural variations in grain, texture, and color may occur and are not necessarily defects.

7. Upholstered Furniture and Fabrics

For upholstered products:

  • Vacuum or gently clean according to the product-specific care instructions.

  • Address spills promptly.

  • Avoid harsh chemicals or cleaning methods that are not recommended for the material.

  • Keep upholstery away from excessive heat and prolonged direct sunlight when appropriate.

  • Do not remove or alter safety labels or manufacturer identification labels.

Always check the specific care instructions provided with the product before applying a cleaning solution.

8. Glass and Fragile Components

Some furniture and décor products may contain glass or other fragile components.

  • Handle these components carefully.

  • Do not place excessive weight on glass surfaces.

  • Avoid striking or dropping glass components.

  • Do not use a product if its glass is cracked, chipped, or otherwise damaged.

  • Keep fragile components away from areas where they may be easily knocked over.

If damage occurs, discontinue use and contact Furnizon if assistance is required.

9. Lighting and Electrical Products

If a Furnizon product includes electrical components or lighting:

  • Follow all product-specific electrical and installation instructions.

  • Use only compatible bulbs, power supplies, or components specified for the product.

  • Do not use products with damaged cords, plugs, or electrical components.

  • Keep electrical components away from water and excessive moisture.

  • Disconnect power before performing any cleaning or maintenance where applicable.

  • Electrical installation should be performed by a qualified professional when required.

Never modify electrical components or bypass safety features.

10. Decorative Products

Home décor products should be used only for their intended decorative or functional purpose.

Keep fragile, sharp, small, or breakable decorative items away from children and pets where appropriate.

Place decorative objects on stable surfaces and ensure they cannot easily fall or create a hazard.

11. Outdoor Use

Do not assume that a furniture or décor product is suitable for outdoor use.

Only use a product outdoors when its product description or accompanying instructions specifically indicate that it is designed for outdoor conditions.

Products intended for indoor use should be protected from rain, excessive moisture, and prolonged outdoor exposure.

12. Heat and Fire Safety

Keep furniture and decorative products away from open flames, excessive heat, and other potential ignition sources unless the product is specifically designed for such conditions.

Do not place candles, heaters, or other heat-producing objects directly on surfaces unless appropriate protection is used and the product is designed to safely accommodate them.

13. Product Damage and Defects

Before using your product, inspect it for visible damage or missing components.

Do not use a product if:

  • It is structurally damaged.

  • Important components are missing.

  • It is unstable after proper assembly.

  • Electrical components are damaged.

  • Glass or other fragile components are cracked or broken.

  • You believe continued use could create a safety risk.

Contact Furnizon at support@furnizon.shop if you need assistance with a damaged or defective product.

14. Children and Pets

Furniture and home décor should be used with appropriate supervision around children and pets.

Keep:

  • Small parts

  • Assembly hardware

  • Plastic packaging

  • Cords

  • Fragile objects

  • Unsecured furniture

away from children and pets where applicable.

Follow any product-specific child-safety or anti-tip instructions provided with your purchase.

15. Product-Specific Instructions

The guidance on this page is general.

Product-specific instructions, warnings, labels, assembly manuals, and care instructions take priority over the general recommendations in this guide.

Always review the documentation supplied with your particular product before assembly or use.

16. Questions or Safety Concerns

If you have questions about the safe use, assembly, or care of a Furnizon product, contact us before using the product if possible.
